Most venues recover their investment within 12–24 months
How this is calculated
  • Weather-lost days × recovery rate gives the number of days targeted by a covered space.
  • Those days are then multiplied by a utilisation factor — accounting for shoulder-season demand, not just calendar availability.
  • Adjusted spend × table turns × covers gives a recovered revenue figure. A 15% net margin is applied to estimate indicative incremental profit. Running costs (if entered) are deducted from recovered days only.

*Indicative incremental profit is based on a 15% net margin applied to recovered-day revenue, minus any running costs entered. Recovery rates and spend factors vary by scenario. All projections are indicative only and not a guarantee of revenue. Actual results will vary based on venue, footfall, and operational factors.

The process

How it works

Do you want to turn your dream of a luxury outdoor space into a reality? Azure Outdoor Living are here to help make this happen in just a few simple steps. Contact Azure Outdoor Living and communicate relevant details such as your product interest, project location, approximate sizes, supporting images, or plans. As well as any other specifics that will help the design team put together an accurate proposal.

If we need any more information or notice anything else that requires further discussion, a member of our team will be in touch to discuss your project requirements in greater depth. You’ll then receive an email link with the digital interactive quotation from which you can add any optional extras. Such as lighting, heating, shading, feature walls, and more.

Once you build the quotation according to your budget, you sign it digitally and it will automate the project into our system. A professional surveyor will then come to your home and will plot all of the necessary measurements. Using the latest equipment, our in-house CAD team will use this information to repair your project, ready to be sent to production.

Azure Outdoor Living will keep you informed at every step and will be in touch with you to book a suitable installation date. Finally, our installation team arrives at your home and converts your vision into reality throughout the entire process. We are here to offer guidance and answer any questions you may have.

FAQs

A well-designed pergola or outdoor structure allows you to turn underused or weather-dependent space into a fully functional seating area.

This means you can:

  • Add more covers without expanding your footprint
  • Keep tables in use during poor weather
  • Extend your trading season
  • Increase customer dwell time and spend

For many hospitality venues, outdoor space becomes one of the most profitable areas of the business once it is properly designed and protected.

Yes.

Modern systems such as bioclimatic pergolas, frameless glass enclosures, integrated heating and lighting allow outdoor spaces to be used far more consistently throughout the year.

In most cases, venues can comfortably use these spaces for 10–12 months of the year, rather than just during peak summer.

The most effective solution is typically a bespoke combination of a pergola and frameless glass sliding doors.

This provides:

  • Protection from rain and wind
  • Adjustable ventilation and shade
  • Flexibility to open the space in summer
  • A comfortable environment in colder months

Every project is designed around your specific layout, capacity and operational needs.

The number of additional covers depends on your available space, layout and the type of dining experience you want to create.

Below are examples based on a handful real commercial projects we have carried out:

OB Café – Lakeside Pergola (11m x 8m)

  • Approx. 88m²
  • Up to 60 covers achieved

A high-efficiency layout using bench seating and flexible tables, designed to maximise capacity while maintaining comfort.

Twyfords Café – Garden Pergola (2.5m x 5m)

  • Approx. 12.5m²
  • Compact terrace transformation

The installation created a fully usable, weather-protected space that can now be used consistently throughout the year.

Typically accommodates 8–12 covers depending on layout.

Smaller spaces like this often deliver strong returns by turning previously underused areas into revenue-generating seating.

Bazaar Restaurant – Glass Extension (30m x 2.5m)

  • Approx. 75m²
  • Long, linear dining extension

Designed to improve both capacity and flow within the venue.

Typically accommodates 30–45 covers depending on layout and spacing.

Linear spaces like this are highly efficient, allowing additional seating without disrupting internal circulation.

What this means for your venue

Even relatively modest structures can significantly increase capacity.

For example:

  • 30 additional covers
  • £25 average spend
  • 2 sittings per day

That’s £1,500 additional revenue per day.

Every project is designed individually, and we work with you to optimise layout, seating capacity and flow based on your specific space and operational requirements.

Each project is bespoke, but the typical process and timelines are as follows:

  • Initial consultation and quotation
  • Site survey within 1–2 weeks of approval
  • Technical drawings and design finalisation within approximately 1 week
  • Manufacturing and delivery typically 10–12 weeks, depending on the time of year and production capacity

Installation time varies depending on the size and complexity of the project:

  • Smaller installations: around 1 week
  • Larger or more complex builds: 2–4 weeks

We manage the entire process from design through to installation, ensuring everything runs smoothly and to schedule.

What affects lead times?

As we move into spring and summer, demand increases significantly.

This can impact:

  • Manufacturing schedules
  • Delivery timelines
  • Installation availability

When should I start my project?

The earlier the better.

To ensure your space is ready for peak season, we recommend starting the process well in advance, as production and installation slots fill quickly during busy periods.

Yes.

All systems are designed for commercial use, using:

  • Durable aluminium structures
  • Toughened or laminated safety glass
  • High-performance components

They are built to withstand regular use in busy hospitality environments.

Yes.

Our systems are designed to be flexible and adaptable:

  • Glass panels can slide open fully in warm weather
  • Louvred roofs can adjust for sun or shade
  • Spaces can be fully enclosed during colder or wet conditions

This allows you to maximise usability throughout the year.

In some cases, yes, particularly for larger or permanent structures.

We can advise during the consultation stage and help ensure your project is designed in line with local planning requirements.

We carry out precision laser site surveys and produce detailed CAD drawings before manufacturing begins.

This ensures:

  • Accurate measurements
  • Seamless integration with existing buildings
  • Smooth installation on site

Yes.
